New in Fall 2016

Ronald’s latest novel, The Gold Eaters, is released in paperback this fall by Penguin Canada and Riverhead/Penguin USA.

Stolen Continents, Time Among the Maya, and Cut Stones & Crossroads have also been re-issued in the prestigious Penguin Modern Classics series with new introductions and afterwords.

Ronald’s latest essay is “The Inca and the English,” published in the Times Literary Supplement, September 30.

The arts and public affairs journal KRISIS (France) has an interview with Ronald by Michel Lhomme, “Croissance et déclin des civilisations,” and an essay entitled “Les ruines de la civilisation Maya: Un avertissement pour les peuples modernes?” translated by Henri Theureau.  September 2016:142-49.

Book is now Film

Surviving Progress, Martin Scorsese’s documentary film based on A Short History of Progress, premiered at the Santa Barbara, Dubai, Paris, Amsterdam, Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal Film Festivals, and more.  Martin Scorsese introduced the New York premiere at the Lincoln Center on April 6, 2012.

On June 4, BBC4 showed the film to rave reviews in the Times, Independent, and other London papers.  It has also screened on the French-German channel Arte.
